"Truly I tell you, whatsoever you do for one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters, you do for me." Matthew 25:40
Dear members of our faith family,
Every year for almost seven decades we kick-off the beautiful month of May with our Annual Catholic Charities Appeal, this year with the beautiful theme Sharing Faith and Love.
Please use the link, www.frdioc-catholiccharities.org, and spend a few quiet, prayerful minutes listening to a direct appeal from Bishop da Cunha for your thoughtful and generous support of the true corporal works of mercy done in the name of Jesus, all year long, affecting tens of thousands of people.
We hear from the letter of John, …let us love not in word or speech, but in deed and truth.
So, please pray about your gift to this year’s campaign. Consider, as I do, the use of a “pledge” which may allow for an even more generous gift that is conveniently spread out over ten months.
Pope Francis recently wrote a letter to the whole world, Rejoice and Exult reminding us that “our life is a gift” and “our freedom is a grace.” You are a gift to this parish family; the holiness of your daily lives is an inspiration. May the grace of God’s love set your hearts free to be a part of how our Catholic Church cares, especially for the poor and the sick, our children as well as our elders, fellow Christians, and even non-believers – all because Jesus reminds us that we’re really showing love to Him.
